Are you able to select a certain city bus route to advertise?
The city bus routes are selected by the city based on ridership numbers, and key areas within a city to be served; such as malls, shopping centers, schools, college campuses, entertainment venues, etc. Buses typically travel on the major streets where the majority of the traffic is located which provides maximum exposure of your message. Each bus is assigned by the city each day and rotated equally throughout the routes that serve the community. Because the buses are rotated from route to route, it is not possbile to have an advertisement stay in a specific area of the city. However, because the buses rotate throughout the city, they deliver great full market coverage of a message.
What is an effective ad?
An effective advertisement is generally able to intrigue, inspire, interest and/or persuade a consumer towards a certain product or service that is worth buying or using. There are several types of advertising; general branding, call to action/response, directional, and making a claim. Several elements must go into an effective ad and there is no universal way of presenting or designing it. However, your Account Executive will be happy to guide you in design to help reach your desired market. One important point to remember is don’t try to say too much – a single message or statement is the most effective. If the message has too many elements it is confusing to the eye and renders the ad ineffective. The best remembered ads are the ones with a single message and a creative flair.
Why is contrast an important feature for design?
Contrast allows the consumer’s eye to easily depict the important information by contrasting colors of dark letters on a light background or visa versa. Contrast allows a message to be viewed quickly and easily understood, thereby providing an effective message and good recall for the advertiser. Good design makes the message stand out and helps the consumer to view it quickly.
Bus riders are not my customer?
Transit advertising is designed to reach the motorist passing by each advertisement. That means thousands of people, on a daily basis, are exposed to the message. Outdoor advertising is measured by considering only those 18+ adults of a city’s population. DEC, or Daily Effective Circulation is used to measure the daily number of adults 18+ while driving that are able to see your advertisement on city buses, curbside billboards and benches. While bus riders do see the messages, that is by far a small fraction of the number of people who are exposed to the message. Its all about the thousands of motorist who can be impacted by your message on Transit Advertising.
Why does outdoor work?
We are a very mobile society with most people constantly on the go. Transit advertising is visible 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is out in plain sight. Transit advertising is at eye-level delivering the message mulitple times thourghout the days activities. Tranist advertising allows the consumer to see the advertisement over and over again, and to trigger a behavior to buy, sell, or use a service.
